INTRODUCTION
Technical Poster Presentation is a research communication competition. The exercise develops academic, presentation, and communication skills and supports the development of research students' capacity to effectively explain their research in a language appropriate to an intelligent but non-specialist audience.

OBJECTIVE
You have to present your research work by means of a Poster, which contains the research work you have done in the field of Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science (MEMS).
Student researchers (both undergraduates[UG] and post-graduates[PG]) in the field of MEMS are invited to participate and present their research work through this unique competition in front of the country`s best MEMS researchers and up against the best students. TEAM SPECIFICATION

  • Each team may consist of maximum 2 participants.
  • Members of a team may be either UG or PG
  • Members of a team may be from same college or different (UG or PG)
  • Any number of teams can participate from a college provided the content of their posters is different

ELIGIBILITY

  • All students with a valid identity card of their respective colleges are eligible to participate.

GENERAL GUIDELINES

  • Each team will be asked to present their poster in front of judges
  • A team member can’t be a part of more than one team in the given competition
  • Bring your college/student I-Card at the time of competition
  • Each team has to register online on our website for the competition
  • A registration number will be allocated to the team on registration which shall be used for future references
  • The decision of the judges shall be treated as final and binding on all
  • Padarth has all the rights to verify the identity and accuracy of the details provided by the participants
  • Padarth, IIT Bombay will not be held responsible for any late, lost or misdirected entries
  • Note that at any point of time the latest information will be that which is on the website. However, registered participants will be informed through mail about any changes on the website

STRUCTURE OF THE COMPETITION
First Round: Abstract Submission (Mandatory for further selection)

  • All interested participants are required to submit an abstract before the deadline 12th February 2017, to be eligible for the selection round
  • Top abstracts will be shortlisted by our judging panel and will be invited to IIT Bombay for the final round of Technical Poster Presentation
  • Final round will be conducted on 4th March, 2017 during Padarth at IIT Bombay

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • All interested students are required to submit an abstract which should be sent to rajverma@padarth.org with subject:
    TPP-Abstract-UG/PG-NAME-CollegeName in PDF format before the deadline to be eligible for the selection round
  • All submissions MUST include an abstract with a maximum of 200 words. All abstracts must be structured using the following section headings or they will be rejected. The labels must be submitted in bold font
    1. TITLE – Should be short and concise, containing no abbreviations, and indicating the nature of the work
    2. OBJECTIVE(S) - Defined as the hypothesis or the purpose of the study.
    3. METHODS - Defined as the study design
    4. RESULTS -Includes the outcome of the study and statistical significance if appropriate
    5. CONCLUSIONS - State conclusions drawn from this study and their significance
    6. You may or may not include the references

RULES FOR FINAL ROUND

  • Maximum size limit for the poster is A3 (29.7 x 42.0 cm)
  • Teams may add the necessary pictures (i.e., Microstructures etc.) in the their Poster
  • No additional electronic media (e.g. sound and video files) are permitted
  • No additional props (e.g. costumes, laboratory equipment) are permitted
  • Presentations are limited to 10 minutes maximum, which will be followed by Q&A round by the Judges
  • Presentations are to be spoken word (e.g. no poems, raps or songs)
  • Presentations are to commence from the stage
  • Presentations are considered to have commenced when a presenter starts their presentation through movement or speech
  • The decision of the judges or coordinators shall be treated as final and binding on all

CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPATION

  • The Participation Certificate will be awarded to all the teams presenting their Poster successfully
  • Winning Team will be awarded with the Prize
